Advertising photography
"Commercial photography and advertising photography are lucrative fields for the professional photographer. Commercial and advertising photography is used for promotional purposes rather than preserving a memory or telling a story as in fine art photography and photojournalism."
Advertising photography continues to play an important role in this new age and images are finding their way into all sorts of unconventional spaces. From traditional banner ads and pop-ups to flyers on the sides of buildings, advertising photography is everywhere. No matter what the product being sold, companies selling everything from perfume to clothing to cars have used the power of advertising photography to push their product sales. Depending on what you're advertising and what media you're using, an advertising campaign has different goals. You may be introducing a product or service to the marketplace, alerting the public to a limited-time sale or event, repositioning yourself or attempting to track the results of your advertising spending. Understanding different goals for advertising will help you create the right ad for each occasion. The aim of an advertising photograph goes far beyond conveying an image. In order to be a successful campaign, the advertising photographs must convey real feeling and evoke an emotional response to attract clients. The emotional response is what will drive people to buy the product or products you are promoting. Throughout these shoot I didn't pick an artist to base my work on, there was a selection of images I took inspiration from.
