Perception
This project is a first year project is based upon the idea of relationships. I have used this project as a way to find my own style, and how I enjoy to take pictures, this means that some shoots worked more than others, but each one is a learning curve.
Throughout my research I explored many different relationships. The first artist, Andrea These, explored the relationship that a person may have with an object. I found that many people have connections with an object due to, memories the objects bring, people the objects surround and/ or the experience of buying it. The second artist I looked at, Brandon Stanton, explored the relationships people have with themselves, the relationships people have with a stranger, but also the relationships people have with a camera. I found that the longer you waited just taking pictures of a stranger the more of their personality came out and also they started to feel more awkward so said some weird things, but it said a lot about the person. The third artist I studied, Sebastian Gil Miranda. Miranda advocated the relationship between a person and when the feel most free, whilst doing their hobby. The connection people made with a object that is used during their hobby exposed freedom. The last artist I looked at was Shay Glover. Exploring Glover showed me a few things, the relationship between the camera and a person, the relationship between their thoughts and themselves, which all showed on their faces.
My Final piece tested my relationship with myself, my thoughts and how I view the world. From doing this project I have learnt a lot, from techniques in the studio to the imperfections about myself.
