Andrea Tese
In these pictures I can see lots of objects, from a kitchen, the objects are all piled up and randomly put somewhere. Tese calls this work ‘everything to do with eating,” this explains why their is kitchen utensils piled up. This documentary type images have yellow tones, but also different tones, which are similar to the colour of the objects in the image. Although, the piles are messy they are organised, with similar shapes on top of each other and stacked up in order of size. The pile, in the second image, is also in-line with the paint mark on the wall and also in conjunction with the lines on the floor. The leading lines on the floor draw your eyes to the pile making you increased and wanting to know more about the person. The images have a slight darkness round the outside, making the images seem more rustic. The images also has a high contrast, exaggerating each object as an individual. There is a lot of negative space, this keeps the focus on the objects.
The pile, in image two , looks like it has been put there in place of a stove, due to the marking on the wall and the plug, which ironically is being used. This gives an overall sarcastic tone to the collection of images. This image has been made by asking someone to collect all of the objects that have something to do with ‘food,’ or some of the other images had their ‘favourite things.’ This collection of images make me feel slightly on edge due to the stability of everything just being stacked on top of each other and also how un-neat the piles is. However they make me question the objects as well as the owner. I think that the Tese is trying to say that a pile of objects can tell you a lot about a person and that you can find out who a person is without actually meeting the person. The work was most likely made to be blown up for a exhibition, or to go into a gallery. The work is modern which I know because a century ago utilises like this wouldn’t be readily available to everyone, like they are now, this contrasts with the rustic tone and colours that are used to give an old feeling.

I copied Andrea Tese's work, by asking my friends and family from different age groups and different genders to place their favourite in a pile. The different age and gender groups meant vairiety in the items, from piles of makeup to books and food.

The images didn't work when the flash was on, and many didn't have the right lighting as the pictures were taken with natural lighting. Once the subject was comfortable with the camera, I could capture the real expression that came with the relationship as the subject was focusing on the object and the questions I was asking not the camera. This lead to having images that weren't as affective, but it emphasises the images with personality.

Final edits
Inspired by Andrea Tese, these 5 images of 5 different peoples objects show the age and gender of someone, and explain a lot of their personality. I think my images could be improved by adding more objects and stacking them like Tese did. I also think the images could be improved if the lighting was much better and flash wasn't used.
Development
My project is based upon relationships, I wanted to include the relationship people have with the object and how that makes them feel. I asked the subject some questions and to explain where they got an object or any stories to do with the object. This meant I captured the subject engaged with the object exposing the relationship.
